There wasn't anything peculiar about the King when he first took the throne. Early in his career he proved to be another kind-hearted ruler that had nothing but love for his people. However, that all changed when he apparently received a prophecy about a dark future where the world would end in fire and chaos.
Descending into madness caused his people to not only despise him but his entire family. All because he had a scary dream.
